Rev. Fr. Dr. Wilfred Odo

This apostolate is presented as having been birthed through the revelation given to Rev. Sr. Mary Ursula Osinakachukwu Igbokwe (DMMM) in 2011. The purpose of the revelation is to call attention to the concern of Our Lord Jesus Christ that people are not mindful of reliving His passion, agony, and crucifixion for the redemption of mankind.

The devotion is described as a spiritual journey through which devotees participate in the redemptive work of Christ, console Our Lord in the agony of His Passion and Crucifixion, make reparation for sins, and seek graces and favours from the Lord.

“Our goal is that walking the way of Christ leads us to the resurrection victory with Christ. Eternal life is our target.”

Rev. Fr. Freddy Warner (SMA)

Rev. Fr. Freddy Warner reflects on the Rosary of Crucifixion as a devotion that moves the faithful to repentance and opens the heart to the Gospel of God’s love shown on Calvary. Carrying the Rosary of Crucifixion, the faithful accompany Jesus through the traditional 14 Stations of the Cross.

At each station, the faithful pause for meditation and pray: “Jesus You went to Calvary for me, have mercy on me and save the whole world.” The crimson-coloured rosary is described as a reminder of the Precious Blood of Jesus poured out in love.

“This Rosary of Crucifixion is offered to us as a light in that darkness caused by suffering and sin. It guides us to Jesus who suffered so much for our sake. And it brings us peace, God’s peace.”

Steve Knight

Steve Knight describes the Rosary of Crucifixion as a profound and spiritually rewarding Roman Catholic devotion for groups of faithful laity. His reflection highlights the challenge of lukewarmness and the need to take seriously the call to meditate on the Passion of Christ.
